My 2025 Bingo card

My first blog post!
A mini introduction to me first though; my name is Alice England, and this is my first blog on my art website. /kriˈeɪt/ - is the phonetic spelling of the word 'create'. I love to create, and I am more than just an artist so, 'Alice kri:eits' embodies me, beyond being an artist.
I am an Architectural Designer by day, and an artist by night. A few months ago I was afraid to call myself an artist - but here I am welcoming you to my artist blog on my art website! I really enjoy my day job, I get to be creative and it challenges me in a different way to my art. Perhaps I'll blog about it one day! (Apparently I am a blogger now!).
I made my website back in October 2024 after setting small arty goals throughout the year to create more, read more, and expose myself to more arty things.
One of those arty things was a little podcast called Art Juice, made by two artists called Alice Sheridan and Louise Fletcher, they became my art Aunties, chattering about art and providing great advice on progressing, creating and as Louise says "finding your joy".
I was listening to their first episode of 2025 when I was inspired to create my bingo card. They were discussing time off over Christmas, and reflecting on what they would like to get out of their art practice this year. And one of the things they mentioned was creating a bingo card for things you might want to achieve this year. And I thought what a great way to manifest arty things I might like to achieve without setting strict news years resolutions.
A few nights later I had a couple of hours to kill before meeting some girlfriends for dinner, so I set out to make my very own 2025 bingo card (template courtesy of AlynjoCo on Etsy!). I set myself up in a little café and let the inspiration flow. Some of them are easy - reading 1 art book, and some things I definitely want to push myself to achieve this year - selling a painting that isn't a commission, and some of the hidden ones are big pipeline dreams, that might not happen this year, or ever, but hey, no harm in manifesting it! I LOVED the freedom of knowing if I don't achieve them, it's not a failure, but it's a win when I get to cross something off it...and even better if I can shout BINGO at the end of 2025!
Plus, I am a cringey millennial and saying "that was not on my bingo card for 2025" feels fun to say! AND, this wasn't on my bingo card for 2025...well it is now!
*PS I shared an abbreviated version of this blog to my Threads...and Alice Sheridan liked and commented, I fully fan girled! But, great advice from Alice Sheridan, in case you think of doing this too, she suggested adding it to my phone background, so I can remind myself of these goals each day!
I can't wait to update my little blog as some of these things get crossed off!
